Purity & Quality: What "99%+" Actually Means
Not all peptide vendors test the same way. Here's what separates a real purity claim from a marketing number.
Peptide purity is typically verified through HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) and mass spectrometry, which measure the percentage of the intended peptide sequence relative to degradation products, truncated sequences, and synthesis byproducts.
A vendor claiming "99%+ purity" should be able to provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) from an independent third-party lab for each batch โ not just a factory spec sheet. Look for batch-specific lot numbers, not generic marketing documents reused across every product.
Storage and shipping conditions matter just as much as synthesis quality. Peptides degrade with heat, light, and moisture exposure โ a "99% pure" peptide shipped without proper packaging can arrive significantly degraded.
